Plateau graduates suiting up for U of Idaho swim team

Sumner High graduate Katie Hendricks and Bonney Lake High graduate Kelsi Potterf are suiting up for the University of Idaho women’s swim and dive team this season.

In her third season with the Vandals, Hendrick has the seventh (24.03 seconds) and 10th (24.09) all-time best 50-yard freestyle marks in school history as well as the seventh best mark in the 100 freestyle (52.35) and the sixth best 200 butterfly time (2:09.51). She is also a member of the school record-holding 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

In 2010, she turned in career best times in the 50 and 100 freestyle at the Western Athletic Conference Championship Meet where she was clocked in 24.03 in the 50 free and 52.35 in the 100 free – both of which rank seventh all-time at Idaho. She also posted career bests during the regular season in the 1650 freestyle, the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke.

Potterf, a 2010 BLHS graduate, where she was a gymnast and diver, is a freshman on the team.

The Vandals’ next meet is at 11 a.m. Saturday with Boise State in Moscow, Idaho.
