A 5-year-old Washington-bred mare, Stephanie Plum made it two straight wins and four at the meet, drawing off for a powerful 2 ¾-ength victory in the $14,800 Ashbaugh Beal Purse for older fillies and mares. The winner paid $8.40, $4.20 and $2.40.

Under regular rider Leonel Camacho-Flores, Stephanie Plum gained command on the turn and ran 6 ½ furlongs in 1:15.90. H.R. Pat Mullens is the trainer and co-owner with Swede Larson and Ed Zenker.

Joining Max Cooper and Stopshoppingdebbie as four-time winners at the meet, Stephanie Plum is 4-2-1 in eight starts this season with earnings  of $37,714.

Muchas Coronas, ridden by Eliska Kubinova, finished second and paid $4 and $3, and Sweet Nellie Brown, ridden by Anne Sanguinetti, finished third and paid $2.80. Jim Penney trains both the runner-up and third-place finisher.

Sweet Sara Brown, Jewel S. Roarified and Better to Be Lucky completed the order of finish. Just Have’n Fun and Carrabelle Harbor were scratched.
