Stopshoppingdebbie can tie a track record when the unbeaten 4-year-old filly runs in the $50,000 Boeing Handicap for older fillies and mares on Sunday, July 6.

Stopshoppingdebbie can tie a track record when the unbeaten 4-year-old filly runs in the $50,000 Boeing Handicap for older fillies and mares on Sunday, July 6.

Seven-for-seven lifetime including six consecutive stakes victories, Stopshoppingdebbie can tie Ropersandwranglers’ mark of seven straight stakes wins set in 1996-97.  Stopshoppingdebbie currently has the most wins of any unbeaten horse in North America.

Trained by Tom Wenzel for Northwest Farms, Stopshoppingdebbie garnered headlines in 2013 by sweeping all four stakes for 3-year-old fillies, capped by a dominant three-length victory in the 1 1/8-mile Washington Oaks.

This year, the brilliant 4-year-old filly is two-for-two, scoring by four lengths in the six-furlong Hastings Handicap and by a half-length over stable mate Goin to the Window in a stakes record performance in the 6-½ furlong Washington State Legislators Stakes.

Versatility is a key to her success, allowing Stopshoppingdebbie to win races on the lead or off the pace, and at distances ranging 5 ½ furlongs to 1 1/8 mile. In her lone start at one mile, Stopshoppingdebbie won the 2013 Irish Day Handicap by 6 ¾ lengths in a stakes record 1:34.74

As usual, Goin to the Window and Blueberry Smoothie figure to offer the biggest challenges to their stable mate. The 4-year-old fillies are a combined 18-for-19 in the money, and twice Goin to the Window has tested Stopshoppingdebbie in stirring stretch runs, finishing second by a head in the 2013 Kent Handicap and second by a half-length in the June 8 Washington State Legislators Stakes.

Madame Pele also warrants respect. The Washington-bred 4-year-old has won two stakes in a 20-race career, and has run well this year against Stopshoppingdebbie, finishing second beaten four lengths in the Hastings and fourth beaten 2 ½ lengths in the Washington State Legislators Stakes. In her only start at one mile on dirt, Madame Pele defeated

Washington-breds in the 2013 Comcast SportsNet Stakes.
