Sumner hosted Peninsula and lost 33-32.

Bonney Lake was down 19-14 at the half, tied the game at 23 by the end of the third quarter and was edged out in the final eight seconds.

“We took the lead with 15 seconds and a guy grabs a rebound and falls and it rolls to a Peninsula player and he puts in a layup,” coach Brett McDaniel said. “The kids were bummed, but the coaching staff was ecstatic. We lost to this team by 30 last time.”

Jordan Bone was the leading scorer for the game with 11 points.

“The kids played their guts out,” McDaniel said. “Our defense was awesome.”

Sumner traveled to Enumclaw Friday and lost 63-21.

Bulzomi led the Spartans with six points.

Sumner traveled to Clover Park Tuesday – scores were not available by press deadline – and host Auburn Mountainview at 7 p.m. Friday.
