The Sumner High boys rolled to a 15-point victory Wednesday night, defeating Bremerton in the opening round of the West Central District 2A basketball tournament.

Playing at Lakes High, the Spartans outdistanced Bremerton 63-48 in a loser-out contest.

With the win, Sumner advances to play Renton High. The two will meet at 7:45 Friday night, again in the Lakes High gymnasium.

A victory Friday would assure the Spartans of a berth in the upcoming regional tournament. With a loss Friday, Sumner would still have one more opportunity to secure a regional berth.
