Sumner’s Josiah Schliesman wins 3A regional wrestling title

Josiah Schliesman at 170 pounds took the 3A regional title for the Spartans Saturday at Bonney Lake High.

Josiah Schliesman at 170 pounds took the 3A regional title for the Spartans Saturday at Bonney Lake High.

Schliesman beat Jonivan Manibusan from Lakes 17-1.

Sumner will be competing at the Mat Classic state tournament Feb. 20-21.

Enumclaw High’s lacrosse team improved to 11-3 overall with a Thursday night victory over the visiting Sumner Spartans. The nonleague contest saw the Hornets jump on top early and coast to a 17-10 win. Success is nothing new to the the Enumclaw crew that captured a Class 2A/1A state title a season ago.
