White River falls to Curtis in Monday play | BOYS LACROSSE

For White River, Matt Funkouser had three goals and Gavin Harerson and Marcus Henkel had two each to lead the way.

Curtis used two-goal nights from three separate players to hold-off a third-quarter challenge by White River on the way to a 13–11 boys prep lacrosse win over the Hornets, Monday, at Curtis High School in University Place.

AJ Hormann, Gaven Haley and Marcus Knight all connected for a pair as the Vikings built an 8–5 half-time advantage then fended off a four-goal third by White River to hold an 11–9 lead heading into the final quarter.  In the end, both squads battled head-to-head scoring two apiece to close-out the game.

Curtis goaltender Connor Jackson had 12 saves to keep the Vikes in position for the win.

For White River, Matt Funkouser had three goals and Gavin Harerson and Marcus Henkel had two each to lead the way.

White River (2-1-0) next faces Auburn Riverside (2-1-0), Friday, April 3 in a 6 p.m. start at White River High School in Buckley.
