The White River High girls escaped with a close, 39-38 victory over River Ridge Friday afternoon, keeping their state tournament drive alive.

The White River High girls escaped with a close, 39-38 victory over River Ridge Friday afternoon, keeping their state tournament drive alive.

With the victory, the Hornets advance to play at 9:30 Saturday morning in the battle for either a fourth- or sixth-place state trophy. They will face either Lynden or Sammamish.

The tournament is being staged at the SunDome in Yakima.
