The White River High girls tennis team cruised to a 5-0 South Puget Sound League 3A victory over Clover Park Thursday. The Hornets were scheduled to play Bonney Lake Friday, but that match was postponed due to rain.

It wasn’t the first match falling to the weather, as the Hornets’ April 14 contest with Franklin Piercee was postponed and rescheduled for Monday. Results of that match and Tuesday’s contest with Lakes were not available at press time but will be posted at www.courierherald.com.

Thursday with the Warriors, Rachel Hoflack didn’t blink on her way to a 6-0, 6-0 No. 1 singles victory. K.C. Rainard came in for the Hornets in the No. 2 singles position to win 7-5, 7-5.

Courtney Hall and Haley Havelock paired up at the No. 1 doubles slot, posting a 6-4, 6-1 win. In No. 2 doubles, Michele Chapman and Holly Hodgeson scored a 6-3 opening set, dropped a 7-5 nail-biter in the second set, and rallied to win the third 6-4. White River’s No. 3 team of Lauren Aronson and Sarah Lindner finished off the streak, running off with a 6-1, 6-2 win.
