Trever Anderson was the only White River High golfer to make the first-day cut and survive to play on day two of the state Class 2A tournament.

Three Hornet boys had advanced to the state tourney, staged at The Classic Golf Club in Spanaway.

Anderson carded a round of 87 Tuesday, advancing to Wednesday’s play.

Playing in the state tournament, but failing to advance to the second round were Ryne Peterson, who shot 91 on Monday, and Tanner Sherstobitoff, who finished at 98.

Caitlyn Miller was the only White River High girl to make the state tourney, which was played at Lake Spanaway Golf Course.

Miller just missed advancing to the second day of competition. On Monday, she finished her round at 100, one stroke away from making the cut.
