    Washington consumers filed 25,197 written complaints with the Attorney General’s Office in 2008 – the greatest number since 2002. Gripes about health care businesses and commercial banks moved into the top 10 and telecommunications maintained its stronghold as the industry to generate the most criticism.

    • A 21-year-old male was stopped March 11 at 10:33 p.m. for driving a vehicle with a defective taillight in the intersection of Church Lake Road and Evergreen Drive. The driver was unable to provide proof of insurance and the officer noticed a hole punched in the driver’s license. A status check revealed the license was suspended. The driver was cited for driving with a suspended license, failure to provide insurance and driving with a defective taillight.
