The waiting is the hardest part

In one month I’ll be moving to Japan and it honestly can’t get here fast enough. Not because I want a change of scene or because I get a cool job right out of college or because I want to hurry up and get my student loans paid off (these are all true) but because I’m just sick of the waiting. Tom Petty was right. It’s the hardest part. This is torture.

Bonney Lake council votes to raise utility rates for 2017

On May 23, the City Council voted for a 9 percent rate increase for the city’s water and a 5.5 percent increase for sewer. mThe council decided to increase the rate only for July 2017, and to disregard the recommended percentages from the FCS Group — the firm hired by the city to create a study on Bonney Lake’s utilities.

Bonney Lake council discussing raising water, sewer rates

The Bonney Lake City Council has spent over a month mulling over proposed increases in water and sewer rates and are one step closer to making a final decision. In a workshop meeting on May 16, the City Council came together to further discuss whether or not residences will have to pay more for their water and sewer usages.

Proposed water, sewer rate increases in Bonney Lake

At the April 18 Bonney Lake City Council workshop, the council members were presented with study results of the proposed rate increases for water and sewer services. The study results were based on single-family residences that use 700 cubic feet (7 centum cubic feet or, 7 ccf) of water or sewer per month, which comes out to 5,236 gallons.

Residents, alumni oppose Sumner School District name change

A public hearing was held on April 12, where opinions were heard on a proposal to change the Sumner School District’s name to “Sumner-Bonney Lake.” Several members of the community attended the hearing and opposition was the theme of the evening.

Local artists host reception in Bonney Lake

Artists of all walks of life are invited to Bonney Lake’s quarterly Artist Reception Friday, April 21. The theme is “Bound” and artists and photographers from south Puget Sound will incorporate their work into it – including Glory Cancro, a member of Bonney Lake’s Arts Commission and organizer of the event.
