Former mayor thanks resident for rejecting change of government

"This resounding result clearly demonstrates that through the power of voting the citizens have a voice to speak to issues that affect them individually and affect the city as a whole," he writes.

I wish to express my deepest gratitude to the citizens of Black Diamond who voted to keep our mayor and form of government. I appreciate the time they took to understand this important issue and vote in support of the future of Black Diamond.

This resounding result clearly demonstrates that through the power of voting the citizens have a voice to speak to issues that affect them individually and affect the city as a whole. As the city continues to move on, I hope the people of Black Diamond will continue to stay involved.

I encourage you not only to vote, but to take time to volunteer at the community center, the museum, Black Diamond Elementary School or other places of your choice. For those that are already doing so, a big thanks to you as well. We welcome you to also enjoy the rewards of volunteering your time and helping our city and the people who live here.
