Burn ban lifted in Pierce County | Puget Sound Clean Air Agency

The Pierce County burn ban was lifted Jan 9. There are no air quality burn bans currently in effect in the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency jurisdiction.

The Snohomish and Pierce County burn bans were lifted Jan 9. There are no air quality burn bans currently in effect in the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency jurisdiction.

Although there may be some pollution spikes tonight, air quality levels are expected to remain below the triggers for burn bans through Sunday evening. A stronger weather front is expected by Monday and should ensure better air quality into early next week. There is a small chance that we may need to reissue a burn ban tomorrow if pollution levels rise higher than expected this evening.

The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency would like to thank everyone who switched to alternative sources of heat instead of burning wood during these bans. Children, the elderly, and people with chronic respiratory health issues especially benefit from your efforts.
