• The Cascade Foothills Chorale will present its Christmas concert at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the Enumclaw High auditorium. • The White River Middle School winter concert begins at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 in the White River High School auditorium. Admission is free.

• “Wish Upon A Christmas Eve” by Ellen Rupel Hansen will be presented at Tuesday following the 10 a.m. meeting of the Plateau Area Writers Association at the Enumclaw Public Library. Admission is free, but PAWA donates to local food banks, so a contribution of a food item would be well received.

• Green River Community College Enumclaw campus gallery presents “Testing Boundaries,” featuring artist Lisa Strauss. The exhibit runs through Dec. 22. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the quarter Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. between quarters. For information, call 360-802-0239.

• The city of Enumclaw’s Gallery 2008 features Enumclaw photographer Lisa Parsons with Journey to Andean Highlands and Jungles of Peru. The exhibit opens today, Wednesday, and runs through Jan. 7. An artist reception is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. Dec. 18 at City Hall. Following the reception, Parsons invites the community to view a slide show and South American wine tasting at Sip City Wines in Enumclaw. Sip City is located at 1040 Stevenson Ave., Suite A. Gallery 2008 is located in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1339 Griffin Ave. Hours for the exhibition space are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Enumclaw City Hall is closed on national holidays. The gallery is closed to the public on Tuesday of each week for municipal court proceedings. Bazaars

• A bazaar to benefit the American Cancer Society is planned for the Lake Sawyer Community Center. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 13 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 14. Featured will be handmade items.

• Camp Fire holiday bazaar is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Moose Lodge, 24506 448th St. in Enumclaw.

• The Black Diamond Elementary PTA hosts a holiday craft bazaar from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the school gymnasium. Enumclaw Expo Center

• Drop-in horse exercise through Feb. 27 in the covered arena. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Events

• Santa Claus is coming to the Black Diamond Community Center at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Caroling begins at 6:30 p.m. The tree will be lit at 7 p.m. After, community members are invited to join the staff and other community members at the Black Diamond Community Center for refreshments, cocoa and cookies. Tim Perciful and his sled dogs will be giving sleigh rides in the parking lot.

The “Share the Joy” Giving Tree will be available so that all of those community members who want to be Santa’s Little Elves can pick a card and give the gift of joy to a child or senior who needs a little help from Santa this year. All donations are tax deductible.

• The Greenwater Community Center and local merchants will host Greenwater Mountain Holidays Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be a bazaar at the center all three days; a parade and caroling at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by a performance by the Enumclaw Middle School choir and the Christmas tree lighting. • All are invited to an introduction to the Weigh Down Workshop, a faith-based weight-loss program. The session will run from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at the Enumclaw Public Library. For information, call 360-829-7850.

• Spend a day strolling through beautifully crafted nativity sets from all around the world at the Latter-day Saints Church’s fifth annual Nativity Exhibit from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Maple Valley. A special viewing is available from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 6. This year, activities also include making Christmas cards, ornaments, dress up in nativity clothing and having their picture taken. The Nativity Exhibit, is extending an invitation to the community to participate in this years display. Last year, more than 400 creches from across the Puget Sound were available for viewing. A strict “no touch” policy is enforced during the event.

• Come join the fun at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Buckley Youth Activity Center, 251 S. River Ave. (next to the skate park) as a group of volunteers decorate and stuff Christmas stockings for disadvantaged children in the community. Enjoy some cocoa, cider and cookies too. • The Enumclaw Guild of Seattle Children’s hospital will host its annual Christmas luncheon and silent auction today, Wednesday, at the Moose hall. Tickets are $12.50 and can be purchased through Shirley Amburgey at 360-825-5080. Donations for silent auction can be given by calling Sandra Stergion at 360-825-2715. The social will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. D–uring this time people can bid on the auction. Money raised supports Seattle Children’s uncompensated medical fun for parents who can’t pay for their child’s care.

• Daffodil Ramblers Good Sam RV Club is open to all who have a recreational vehicle. The group (mostly retirees) camps together, gathers monthly for dinner meetings and supports two charities. For information, 253-845-3486.

Services

• Plateau area residents interested in properly discarding their worn and tattered American flags, can now drop them at Radio Shack in Enumclaw during regular business hours. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1949 will pick up the flags and properly dispose of them.

Activity Center

Buckley Senior Center

The Buckley Senior Center is at 811 Main St. and can be reached at 360-829-0190.

• There will be a Christmas card making class at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday. The cost is $1 for supplies.

• The final Diabetes Awareness class will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The class is free and a variety of topics and questions will be discussed.

• A trip is set to see Life Center’s Singing Christmas Tree Dec. 19. The cost is $20 (plus dinner on your own) and the van leaves the center at 4:30 p.m.

• The Buckley Senior Center offers free van transportation from home to the center for lunch Monday, Tuesday and Friday weekly. Seniors who live within the White River School District are eligible to have the van come pick them up. The van also takes seniors to the post office, food bank, drug store and Farm Fresh Produce. Call the center to schedule a pick-up time.

• YoungLives offers fun and support for teenage mothers. The group meets from 6 to 8 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of the month at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 1725 Porter St. in Enumclaw. Center
