Sumner School District partnered with East Pierce Fire and Rescue (EPFR) and the Sumner Police Department to organize a walking school bus in celebration of International Walk to School Day, Oct. 9.
Students met at the district building and took a sunny stroll to Daffodil Valley Elementary. The parade was escorted by an EPFR fire engine and Sumner police officers. EPFR’s safety clowns interacted with the children and discussed pedestrian safety tips.
From 1996 to 2013, the Hornets won 17 total team and individual state titles and a long list of league and regional wins.
