Governor Jay Inslee proclaimed the week of August 25 through September 1 as Stand with Those Who Serve Week, in honor of those who serve in careers of public safety statewide.

Stand with Those Who Serve is a Maple Valley-based organization that supports and honors the public service and law enforcement community. This includes police, fire, 911 operators and corrections personnel, as well as other staff from federal, state and local agencies.

In the official proclamation, Gov. Inslee urged all Washington residents to recognize the sacrifices and responsibilities taken on by public safety officials to protect the communities they serve. A press release from the office of Stand with Those Who Serve reads:

“Washington’s public safety agencies work collaboratively to safeguard life and property even in the face of personal harm on a daily basis. We would like the citizens of Washington State to take the time to show your support for the public safety community by letting them know that you Stand With Those Who Serve.”
