DRUNKEN DRIVER

• Police were told of a green coupe crashing into mail boxes in a mobile home park on Spruce Drive Thursday afternoon. The driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and hit-and-run.

JUVENILE TROUBLE

• A citizen told police Oct. 28 that she saw four teenagers throw papers in the street in the vicinity of Warner Avenue and Schmid Street. When she confronted the teens and told them to pick up the papers, they responded with obscenities. An officer checked the area but did not locate the teens.

FIGHT IN PROGRESS

• Police responded to a fight in progress the evening of Oct. 28 at a Battersby Avenue address. Officers contacted all involved and all declined to press charges. One subject was found to have a warrant issued by the Renton Police Department and was taken into custody, then taken to Maple Valley to meet with a Renton officer.

CUSTODY DISPUTE

• Police responded Oct. 27 to a Roosevelt Avenue address and a dispute between a child’s parents and grandparents. The grandparents were concerned about the child riding in a vehicle with someone who had been drinking. Officers determined the driver was not impaired.

DANGEROUS

• A citizen complained to police Oct. 26 a vehicle was blocking the road in the Garrett Street vicinity and there were no flaggers or cones to warn motorists. Police contacted workers who agreed to put out some warning cones.

TAILGATING

• A motorist called police the afternoon of Oct. 26 to report a full-size pickup being driven recklessly on state Route 169, heading into town. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was warned about his behavior.

SUSPICIOUS GROUP

• Police responded Oct. 24 to concerns about a large group of juveniles hanging out in a Monroe Avenue parking lot, leaving trash and broken glass on the ground. Officers made contact with two groups that were loitering and asked them to move on.

DOMESTIC TROUBLE

• Following an Oct. 24 report of a verbal domestic situation, police responded to a Watson Street location where they arrested a man for assault.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF

• Extra patrol was requested Oct. 24 in the area of Highpoint Street after several homes were hit with eggs and had pumpkins stolen.

PEDESTRIAN HIT

• An officer responded the morning of Oct. 23 to a Roosevelt Avenue parking lot after learning a pedestrian had been hit by a car. The pedestrian confirmed there were no injuries and the issue was settled.

SCAM ATTEMPT

• An elderly woman told police Oct. 23 she had refused to participate in a possible scam and was then threatened by the person involved. A report was taken and the victim asked for extra patrol around her Gossard Place residence.

ALCOHOL POISONING

• Late Saturday evening police were dispatched to a Whitehouse Avenue residence for a case of possible alcohol poisoning. Looking around the party, officers noticed there were several minors exhibiting the effects of having consumed alcohol. Medics arrived to check out the minor who was rumored to be suffering poisoning. All other minors who appeared drunk were arrested, then had their parents contacted.

IN DITCH AND MAD

• Officers were dispatched to a Spiketon Road address where a vehicular collision put one car in the ditch and there was an ensuing altercation involving an undisclosed number of suspects. When officers arrived, it was determined that a 17-year-old driver, whose car had ended up in the ditch, was intoxicated. The subject was transported to the Buckley jail and later released to his mother.

COP FLAGGED DOWN

• A woman trying to walk down Cedar Street flagged down an officer at approximately 8:30 p.m. Thursday. When the officer contacted the woman she had watery, red eyes and the officer could smell liquor on her breath. She told him she had only consumed four beers. Just to be safe the officer called medical staff to the scene; the woman was checked out and released without incident.

UNWANTED GUEST

• Police responded to a complaint of an unwanted man loitering around a River Road business at about 4 p.m. Oct. 27. Employees of the establishment told officers that the man was asking them questions that didn’t make sense. It was determined he was confused and just looking for a place to sit down. Officers explained that wasn’t an option and the man moved on with no problems.

LURING YOUNG GIRLS

• A report of a man trying to lure two preteen girls into a wooded area off Rainier Street came through dispatch the evening, of Oct. 26. A check of the area was conducted with negative results, but officers advised the citizens reporting the incident to let them know if they saw the man in the area again.
