Police department invites public to funeral procession

Bonney Lake Police Department issued a press release announcing the death of former Bonney Lake police officer Brian Kelly. The public is invited to pay their respects to Kelly and his family.

Bonney Lake Police Department issued a press release announcing the death of former police officer Brian Kelly. The public is invited to pay their respects to Kelly and his family by gathering at 7:30 a.m. Monday in front of the Public Safety Building, 18421 Veterans Memorial Drive in Bonney Lake, for a funeral procession led by uniformed police officers.

The procession will leave Main Street at approximately 7:50 a.m. and travel eastbound on Veterans Memorial Drive. It will travel through Bonney Lake, Buckley, Enumclaw, Black Diamond and Maple Valley. The final destination will be Tahoma National Cemetery, where a memorial service is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.

Kelly lost his battle with cancer on August 9. He served as a police officer for the city of Bonney Lake in 2008 until 2012, when he returned to service as a pilot for Alaska Airlines. He also served as an officer in the United States Marine Corp and at the time of his death, he was an active Lt. Colonel in the Marine Corp Reserves.
