Enumclaw open, White River closed, Sumner School District on Wednesday late start schedule and other weather related news

UPDATED AT 8:35 a.m.:

Despite excessive rain fall and power outages throughout the region, the Enumclaw School District remains on normal schedule this morning.

The district reported on their website that all schools have power and will start at their normal times.

White River School District

According to a tweet from King 5 News, the White River School district is closed today.

It also reported there is no out of district transportation and all after school activities have been canceled.

Sumner School District

The Sumner School District tweeted schools are running on a normal Wednesday late start schedule.

Traffic wise

Due to power outages throughout the Sound, the Seattle Department of Transportation tweeted this morning reminding driver’s to treat out traffic signals as all-way stops.

A number of road closures are also in effect this morning due to an excessive amount of water on the roadways.

About an hour ago, the Seattle Times tweeted that a portion of the Maple Valley Highway from Cedar Grove Road to Jones Road is closed because of flooding.

Commuters this morning will also see a delay in Sound Transit buses and trains.

The DOT also reported on Twitter hearing reports of people driving on roads that have been closed because of flooding.

They asked commuters, to not drive down roads that are closed.

“There’s a reason they’re closed,” the DOT tweeted.
