The Spartans are league champions | Friday on the Hardwood

The final regular season games were played Friday for the Sumner Spartans girls and boys basketball teams and for the Bonney Lake girls.

Sumner vs. White River

The Spartans girls played a tough game against the White River Hornets. Sumner won its 18th game in a row, beating the White River 42-38.

With the win, Sumner is the 2A SPSL league champion and the No. 1 seed entering the 2A sub-district tournament starting Tuesday, Feb. 11.

The Spartans ended the season undefeated in league play, 14-0 and 19-1 overall. Sumner’s only loss was the second game of the season to Bonney Lake.

The Sumner boys tipped off against the White River Hornets in the second game of the double header Friday.

The Spartans boys also ended the night 2A SPSL league champions after beating the Hornets 52-47.

The Sumner boys are scheduled to play at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11 against a to be determined opponent.

Bonney Lake vs. Enumclaw

At the time of this web post, the final score was not known from the Bonney Lake and Enumclaw girl’s basketball game.

The Panthers girls are scheduled to play Kennedy Catholic next in the 3A sub-district tournament at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12. At the time of this web post, the location of the game is unknown.

Bonney Lake vs. Enumclaw Boys

Due to rescheduling, the Bonney Lake boys basketball team plays its final game of the season tonight.

The Panthers host the Enumclaw Hornets at 4:45 p.m.
