April Pools Day set at SHS pool

East Pierce Fire and Rescue and the Bonney Lake Police are teaming up to sponsor April Pools Day, a free family water safety event from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on April 18 at the Sumner High School pool, 1707 Main Street.

The first hour will include water safety instruction and activities and raffles, followed by a free swim session. Activities are geared toward children, ages 7-12. Children under six are welcome, but must be accompanied in the water by an adult. Children and adults are encouraged to bring their life jackets. East Pierce representatives will be on hand to make sure they fits and functions properly. Participation is limited to the first 80 children at the door. For more information, call 253-863-1800.
