Diesel fumes force class dismissal at Lakeridge

Classes were canceled Thursday at Lakeridge Middle School in Bonney Lake after diesel fumes from equipment being used on the site entered the school.

All students were moved to the gymnasium or other areas of the school as a precaution, according to Ann Cook, district communication director.

The air circulation system was shut down to prevent further fumes from circulating through the building.

Cook said parents picked up their children at school as soon as they were notified. All afterschool activities and evening events were canceled.

School offices remained open until all students are picked up.

Classes resumed on Friday.
