Application sought to fill positions

Applications are being accepted to fill two vacant positions on the Pierce County Landmarks and Historic Preservation Commission.

Appointments are made by the County Executive with Council confirmation.

Deadline for applying is Aug. 15.

The 11-member commission makes recommendations to the County Executive and Council on historic preservation-related matters.

Meetings are from 6 to 7:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month in the County Annex, 2401 S. 35th St.

The commission is comprised of seven council district representatives and four at-large members. Terms are three years.

Individuals who reside in Council Districts 1 have expertise in history, historic architecture, archaeology and archival science are encouraged to apply.

Council District 1 covers Buckley, Wilkeson, Carbonado, Bonney Lake, Sumner, Edgewood, Milton, South Prairie, Orting and Graham.
