Tyler Salsbury birdied two holes on his way to a 2-under par 35 at Enumclaw to earn medalist honors and lead the Hornets to an 89-47 win over Sumner in SPSL 3A golf action Oct. 6.
Teammates Jake Erickson and Jordan Beals, both seniors playing in their last home contest, finished at 37 and 38, respectively. Tim Livermore was one stroke behind at 39. David Smith, 41, and Colton McCluskey, 43, rounded out the scoring.
The Hornets, with one league loss, a three-point contest with Peninsula, were scheduled to close out the regular season Tuesday at Oakbrook Country Club with Lakes; results can be found at cmg-northwest2.go-vip.net/courierherald. The Hornets then head into the South Puget Sound League 3A Medalist Tournament at Fort Lewis’ Eagles Pride Golf Course. The top finishers there advance to the state qualifying tournament, also at Fort Lewis, Tuesday.
