Fourteen students from the White River School District’s Alternative Programs Choice program graduated June 7 before friends and family at the school’s gymnasium.

Many of those who graduated have been with the parent-partnership program for several years. In addition to a high school diploma, a few also earned an associate of arts degree from a community college, while others are close and will earn their college degrees in the coming months.

Choice staff member Kim Merrick shared Dr. Seuss’ “Oh the Places You’ll Go” with graduates before salutatorian Tori Schmidt and valedictorian Yvonne Kicken addressed those gathered.

After Lori Locquiao’s performance “Unsung Hero,” staff members introduced each graduate with a story and presented them with their diploma. The class of 2010 are: John Clarke, Paul Davis, Matt Edwards, Jeff Howard, Shane Jackson, Taylor Kelly, Yvonne Kicken, Kai Laxa, Eddie Muller, Ashleigh Nevin, Alicia Rauenhorst, Aaron Reynolds, Tori Schmidt, Katie Spiry.
