BLHS SOCCER: Lions slash Panther winning streak

Bonney Lake High’s winning streak skidded to an end Thursday night when the girls from Auburn Mountainview invaded the Panthers’ turf.

The squads played to a scoreless tie before the Lions won in a shootout.

According to South Puget Sound League 3A rules, as far as the standings go, the game is recorded as a tie. The outcome left the Panthers with an overall mark of 7-0-1 and a league record of 1-0-1.

Bonney Lake’s Rendi Johnson and Mountainview’s Jessica McAllister each were credited with a shutout in goal.

The Panthers had opened league play Sept. 28 with a 1-0 decision over Decatur High. Bonney Lake used a goal in the 59th minute by Savannah Moorehouse to secure the win.
