SHS/BLHS GYMNASTICS: Sumner, Bonney Lake bow down to Class 4A

The Sumner High gymnasts were second and the Bonney Lake girls placed fourth Jan. 12 during a meet in the Panthers’ gymnasium.
The Class 4A Puyallup Vikings took top team honors and the crew from Federal Way High, also 4A, placed third.
Five local gymnasts placed in the Top 10 in the all-around. Bonney Lake’s Kelsy Wells-Henderson was fourth and teammate Kimi Nakayama was 10th. For Sumner High, Aja Ruswick was second all-around, Dayna Devereaux was seventh and Sierra Tinsley was ninth.
In the vault, Devereaux and Nakayama tied for fourth and Wells-Henderson and Ruswick tied for sixth.
On the bars, Wells-Henderson tied for sixth, Devereaux tied for seventh, Ruswick was ninth and Bonney Lake’s Mallory Zimbelman was 10th.
On the beam, Tinsley placed second, Wells-Henderson was fifth, Zimbelman was eighth and Ruswick tied for 10th.
In the floor exercise, Ruswick was second, Devereaux was third, Wells-Henderson tied for fifth, Nakayama was seventh, Tibnsley was ninth and Bonney Lake’s Kaisee Spencer was 10th.
