BASEBALL: Spartans’ Brinkman and Falk flex bat muscle

Despite dubious weather, Sumner High’s baseball team managed to get in a couple of contests, losing to Enumclaw 14-4 before defeating visiting Peninsula March 16, 8-4.

The Spartan lumber awoke against Peninsula as Tanner Brinkman and Brad Falk flexed their muscle at the dish. Brinkman went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and Falk blasted a triple and a home run and knocked in five runs.

Sumner closed out its preseason slate with a weekend trip to Eastern Washington, where they played Roslyn and Selah high schools at Central Washington University. The results of those games were not available.
