SLIDESHOW: EHS TRACK: Johnson two-time winner for Hornets

Thursday afternoon brought twin wins for the Enumclaw High track and field program.

The Hornets swarmed over the visiting Decatur Gators, as the EHS boys rolled to an 84-60 decision and the girls took a 78-67 verdict.

The Enumclaw boys were paced to two-time winner Robby Johnson, who took the 400-meter run with a time of 55.36 seconds and won the 200 meters in 24.82.

Other first-place finishers for the EHS boys were Zack Mason in the 100-meter dash, 11.83; Peter Nordby in the 300-meter high hurdles, 48.01; Derek Forza, shot put, 38 feet, 9 inches; Kolton Carlson, discus, 126-10; Kaeleb Harper, javelin, 124-07; David Brazier, long jump, 19-01; Erik Van Hulse, triple jump, 35-00; and Logan Ross, pole vault, 12-00.

On the girls’ side of the ledger, a Hornet won half the events and Enumclaw used greater depth to pull away for the win.

Taking first-place honors for the EHS girls were Maria Blad in the 100-meter hurdles, 16.38; Emily Eilertson, 800-meter run, 2:37.70; Diane Lindsey, 200 meters, 30.18; Kayla Rodarte, shot put, 30-03; Sierra Carlson, discus, 92-03.5; AnnaMarie Forza, javelin, 105-10; Olivia Bannerot, long jump, 15-11; and both the 800- and 1,600-meter relay teams.

The Hornets do not compete this week, as the district is on spring break.
