Annual Sumner event sets the holidays alight | SLIDESHOW

Hundreds of residents turned out to see the annual Bridge Lighting and fireworks show Nov. 25 in Downtown Sumner.

Sponsored by the Old Cannery Warehouse, the holiday season got off to a booming start with bursts of brightly colored fireworks over the river followed by the official lighting and then a small festival in the Old Cannery parking lot, complete with cocoa, cookies, a warm fire, christmas carols and even an opportunity to do a little gift shopping.

The fun continues this weekend with the annual Santa Parade, 2:30 p.m. Dec. 3 on Main Street in Sumner.
