TODAY: Sign dedication honors DUI victim

The public is invited by the Tacoma Pierce County Victim’s Panel to join the family of Gary Slick, first responders and the Bonney Lake Police Department in remembering Slick during a brief, dual-memorial sign unveiling at 3 p.m. today. The event will be held on 214th Street near the intersection of state Route 410 in Bonney Lake.

Slick was killed during an alcohol-related collision in 2012. The driver, James Southard Jr., was sentenced to 27 years incarceration.

A DUI emphasis patrol and Home Safe Bar program will be conducted in his honor, as well.
