Juvenile Assault: Officers responded to the report of an assault in progress. Officers arrived at the home and were told by the juvenile’s parents and a social worker that the juvenile started swearing during dinner was asked to leave the table for a time out. The juvenile refused and continued to swear at her parents. She continued to refuse to leave the table and go to her room so her dad escorted her to her room. She hit, kicked and bit him on the way upstairs. When officers arrived she was being restrained in her room. Officers arrested her for two counts of assault in the fourth degree without incident. She was transported to Remann Hall and this case has been forwarded to the Juvenile Prosecuting Attorney for further review.

Attempted Theft: Officers responded to a SR 410 hardware store regarding the report of suspicious activity by a male suspect. While in route, the officers learned he had parked near a fire exit and then entered the store. As he tried to exit the store with a cart full of merchandise, the store’s manager made contact with the suspect. He told the manager he needed to go to his car to get his wallet and then left the store. He saw the officers near his car and preceded to walk the other way and leave the parking lot. After a records check, officers learned the suspect’s license was suspended and his car had recently be impounded. The manager said the cart of merchandise was worth more than $800. He was unable to trespass the suspect but would have his car towed if the suspect did not move it. The suspect then began to push his car through the parking lot and later told officers someone was coming to help him move it. At the time of this report, there was no further action taken.
