Sumner drops inaugural girls lacrosse game to Garfield
SUMNER – Sumner dropped its inaugural girls high school lacrosse game to Garfield Monday as the Bulldogs delivered a decisive 14-7 season-opening win at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner.
Jazmin Braden led the first-year Spartans with four goals and an assist, while Kasadi Fishburn, Bailey Hazzard and Sara Vargus rounded out the scoring with single goals.
Goaltender Lexi Evans had seven saves in the loss.
Sumner (0-1-0) next faces Bellarmine Prep (0-0-0), Thursday, March 12 in a 5:30 p.m. start at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.
