Molen Orthodontics hosted its 17th annual candy buy-back on Nov. 1, the first business day after Halloween.

Over 2,000 pounds — or a ton — of candy was collected this year, as well as over 700 cans of food for local food banks.

The candy was bought back at $2 a pound, plus an additional dollar for coming in costume and a further additional dollar if the kids donated cans of food; more than $4,500 was given to kids during this year’s buy-back event.

Of course, kids also received a free goodie bag of oral hygiene products to stay healthy.
