Three suspected teens allegedly involved in fatal crash in Black Diamond

A stolen car in Kent and a carjacking in Maple Valley ended in a fatal crash in Black Diamond late last night.

According to the Black Diamond Police Department and the King County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle stolen out of Kent read-ended a Silver Hyundai at SE 288th & 228th Ave SE around 11:30 p.m.

The occupants, believed to be between the ages of 15 and 17, stole the Hyundai at gunpoint and drove into Black Diamond.

Officers located the car off the road at SE 297th and 224th Avenue SE, the west side of Lake Sawyer, later after it had crashed into a tree; the driver was dead on arrival, and the other two were transported to Harborview Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Their identities are not publicly known at this time.

The incident is being investigated by King County major Crimes.
