Buckley-area man shot dead after DV call

Pierce County deputies shot and killed a Buckley-area man after a domestic violence call last night.

According to the Pierce County Sheriffs Department, a report regarding a domestic violence incident with a firearm was reported at 11:32 p;.m. the 7500 block of 242nd Ave Ct E north of South Prairie, outside the west city limits of Buckley.

Deputies arrived on scene at 11:44 p.m. A female left the home while the male suspect went inside to rack a firearm.

After determining deputies had probable cause to arrest the suspect for first degree assault, the suspect came out of the house with a firearm at 11:51 p.m.; deputies yelled “shots fired” and shot him. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

No deputies were injured.

The name of the suspect has not yet been released.

The Pierce County Force Investigation Team responded to take over this investigation.
