A windstorm is predicted to hit the Plateau tomorrow.

According to UW Atmospheric Sciences professor Cliff Mass, high winds of between 60 and 70 mph could gust through Enumclaw, Buckley, and Black Diamond from Tuesday afternoon through the night. A high wind warning will be in effect from 2 p.m. Tuesday to 4 a.m. Wednesday.

“Enumclaw, Black Diamond, North Bend, and other communities near the western Cascade slopes will get bruised by strong winds,” Mass wrote on the Cliff Mass Weather Blog. “Get your candles ready.”

According to weather.gov, “Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.”
