Patricia Morey

Patricia Marie Morey, our beautiful and loving Pat, died peacefully on October 16th, 2025. Even though the past 20 months were difficult for her, we were blessed to have her in our Lake Tapps home until just 8 days before her passing. In her last weeks and days she was blessed to have visits from her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. On the evening of October 16th, she passed peacefully into the Loving Arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, when He called her Home. As a born again believer, she embodied the virtues of Ps 31: “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Patricia’s snappy charm and loyal heart touched everyone who knew her.
Patricia Marie Hogan was born in San Francisco, on January 20, 1930….a date she was proud to remind everyone was also Inauguration Day. She spent most of her long vibrant life in Northern California. She married Fred Morey, Jr on July 12, 1952, and spent their early marriage in the Sacramento area, with their 2 children, Kathleen and Brian; eventually settling in Marin County California. Her dear Fred passed away when she was only 59 and she never remarried. Pat continued to enjoy her successful retail sales career until she retired in 1997. At that time she moved north to Enumclaw, Washington to be near her daughter and family. There she found new friends and worked part time at Enumclaw Music. She was an accomplished classical pianist, having started lessons at 6 years old. She enjoyed all types of music and
especially loved playing worship music for her church in California, after dedicating her life to Jesus at the age of 45, and continuing to play occasionally after moving north. Above all, Pat held her family in high regard, being the proud matriarch of an extensive family. She cherished her role as a Sister, Mom, Aunt Pat, Gma, GG and Great GG. Her legacy lives on in her children, Kathy & husband Bill Thias, Brian Morey, and step son David Morey and their families. She has 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. Her family stretches from California to Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Morey, her father, Aurthur Hogan, mother Viola Mattos and step father Artie Mattos, and brother Michael Hogan. Her sweet sister, our precious Auntie Bettie Mitchell, is still with us at 97 years old.
Patricia’s spirit, love, smile and laughter will be dearly missed and never forgotten. As we remember her, let us celebrate her remarkable life, steadfast faith and love she shared with all of us.
Please join us at her Memorial Celebration at her church, where she was the most senior member: Sunday, November 16th, 2025 at 2pm.
