As a parent of two children, with a third on the way, attending Black Diamond Elementary within the Enumclaw School District (ESD), I feel compelled to share my thoughts on the upcoming levy renewals in the February special election.

Over the years, I have been consistently impressed with the quality of instruction and the level of support my children receive. The district office is diligently working to align resources and training, which has resulted in noticeable improvements in student performance, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic. Our children’s scores are climbing, a testament to the hard work of teachers and staff.

I am excited to cast my vote in favor of the levy renewals—not only because they won’t raise the tax rate but also because I wholeheartedly support the positive initiatives taking place in our schools. The recent land sale and the renegotiated agreement to build a new school in Black Diamond are particularly promising developments that will help address our community’s growth needs.

I encourage everyone in our community to seek information from the Enumclaw School District about these levy renewals. Sustaining these levies is crucial for maintaining the positive momentum we’ve built, ensuring our children continue to receive the quality education they deserve. Let’s support our schools and the bright futures of our children by voting “yes” in February!
