Letter to the Editor: Expect Iran to strike back

I have found no reference in the print media or on the internet concerning what I am about to write.
I suspect it has to do with the immediate day to day attention that is being given to Trump’s war in Iran. The down range long term effects of our war have not been considered or explored.
We started an unprovoked war by bombing Iran twice. The first time with B-2 bombers concentrating on their nuclear concentration facilities. This second time around has resulted in decapitating their immediate top government officials, capital buildings, schools, and military facilities.
What has not been considered is how Iran will ‘eventually’ react.
I.e. think, how would we react to an unprovoked bombing of our capital, the death of our leaders, and children? The answer is written historically with the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. The Japanese didn’t decapitate our government, only part of our military on an island, and how did we then react?
Iran now has a very deep incentive to attack our nation ‘within’ our borders and embassies abroad. We are the aggressor this time, and have started something that may not end the way everyone assumes.
I.e. it looks as if we will strike some medals, declare victory, and simply go home. This will be the end of ‘our’ involvement in the Middle East. But it will not be the end of the Middle East (at least via Iran) involvement with us.
If you recall, Osama bin Laden destroyed the twin towers, struck the Pentagon and killed several thousand of us. This was due to his dislike of our relationship with the House of Saud.
This was an undeniable unprovoked act of terrorism. If Iran decides to wage a covert war internally against us, it wouldn’t be terrorism. It would be more of a tit for tat, a valid war with a real grievance behind it.
We have effectively destroyed their Washington D.C., their nuclear plants, killed their leaders, their citizens, destroyed schools, and now want peace? Notta gonna happen! Our media has not processed this further than the day-to-day failures to reach an agreement.
What is missing is how Iran will fight back on our shores in the years to come. Be advised, we cannot just walk away. Iran is not done here. We can look forward to more 9/11 style attacks, this time justified in the minds of the Iranians. We started it, but they are going to want to finish it.
