Robert (Bob) Fryberger,
May 29, 1952- April 16, 2026
Robert (Bob) Fryberger, of Enumclaw, passed away April 16, 2026, at the age of 73. He was born May 29, 1952, to Dan and Norma Fryberger in Seattle, WA. He moved to Enumclaw as a toddler when his dad got a job working for the Army Corp of Engineers at Mud Mountain Dam.
Bob was known as the ‘car guy’! Working as a mechanic for 46 years there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix! He spent a majority of his career working locally at Art Gamblin Motors. Doing so many side jobs, he had quite the clientele and decided to open his own repair shop, Fryberger Automotive. He later worked for Fugate Ford before retiring from Horizon Air. Even after retiring, he continued to do side jobs working on cars. When he was no longer able to do that anymore, he would tag along on jobs with his son, Rob, offering his advice and input.
He lived in Enumclaw where he loved spending time with family, especially his grandkids, riding his bike, and taking his dog for walks. If it was a sunny day, you would find him outside soaking up the sun! He loved the heat so much that in retirement he briefly moved to Payson, AZ before moving back to his roots, Enumclaw. He was diagnosed with dementia in 2013 and through it all he was always in good spirits with a smile on his face. Any time you would go see him he would greet you with a “how are you doing” and a “thanks for coming by” when you left. He always wanted to know what you were doing and still loved to talk about engines.
Bob is survived by Sonja; children: Sunny, Kristie (Keith), Rob (Kari), Heidi, Gordon (Lyndsay), and Peter (Sara); thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren; sister Linda (John), Barbara (Dave), Debra (Brad) and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother Danny.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
