November 9, 1949- April 15, 2026

Francis “Frank” Clifford Eshpeter, 76, passed away on April 15, 2026. Born on November 9, 1949, in Tacoma, Frank spent much of his life in Greenwater and Maple Valley before retiring to Westport, a place he deeply loved. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1971 as a Gunner’s Mate. Following his military service, he built a lifelong career in construction and retired as a Construction Project Manager for the Puyallup School District.

Service to others was one of Frank’s defining qualities. He helped form PCFD 25, the Greenwater Fire Department, and served as the first Fire Chief of the all-volunteer department. Frank dedicated countless hours volunteering in his community, including serving as chapter president for the Coastal Conservation Association and South King County Puget Sound Anglers. In recent years, he was an active member of the Westport Windriders Kite Club and helped organize the annual Westport Kite Festival.

Frank deeply loved the outdoors and enjoyed skiing, fishing, and kite flying. Whether on the water, in the mountains, or on the beach, he was happiest when surrounded by nature and the people he loved.

In September 1988, Frank married the love of his life, Mary Gallagher Eshpeter. Together they built a life centered around family, community, and adventure.

Frank is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Tiffen (Michael), Travis (Danielle), Griffin (Lillian), Corey (Orie) and stepdaughter Jennifer; and his beloved grandchildren Gideon, Solveig, and Wesley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vic and Ruth Eshpeter, and his siblings Vic, Sharon, and Judy.

Frank will be remembered for his generosity, leadership, dedication to his community, and adventurous spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of service, friendship, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held August 8th, in Westport, WA.
