LOG SHOW

It’s Buckley’s biggest event of the year! The annual Log Show (located at the Log Show Grounds at the north end of the city) starts on June 27 with a 10 a.m. parade down Main Street and a vendor market, which will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Log Show events will begin at noon. The event continues on June 28 with the competition finalists vying for the coveted All-Around Logger title, starting at 11 a.m.; vendors will also be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The Kid’s Log Show will be held June 20.

MARKETS AND CRUISES

Farm Fresh at the Enumclaw Market: The Enumclaw Plateau Farmer’s Market is back, starting on June 4 and continuing on every Thursday through September (except for July 4). The market is open 3 to 7 p.m., and is located on First Street/Kasey Kahne Drive. For more information or to look up vendors, head to enumclawplateaufarmersmarket.org.

Cruise Enumclaw: Cruise Enumclaw has already started, and will continue every first Friday of the month from now through September, starting at 6 p.m.

Cruise Buckley: Want more classic cars? Then make sure to attend Cruise Buckley, which is every third Saturday from May through September, from 6 to 9 p.m.

SINGLE EVENTS

May 30 – 31

Golden Jubilee: The Cascade Foothills Chorale celebrating its 50th anniversary at the Calvary Presbyterian Church Saturday, May 30. and Sunday, May 31, at p.m. Tickets are $7.50, and kids 10 and under can come for free. The theme is, of course, Golden Jubilee.

June 6

Recycling Collection: The city of Enumclaw is hosting a recycling collection event on June 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Enumclaw Expo Center. In partnership with the King County Hazardous Waste Mobile, residents can bring tires, motor oil, lead cid batteries, rechargeable batteries, propane tanks, porcelain toilets and sinks, bulky wood, appliances, scrap metal, refrigerators and freezers, and more to be recycled. America 250 Heritage Day: The Black Diamond Historical Museum is hosting a live radio broadcast of “Cascade of History” live from the museum on Jab. 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with local historian Felix Banel. There will also be an antique car show, parade of country flags, a coal mine ribbon cutting, a fashion show, and more. For more information go to facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063686671544

June 9

WRHS graduation: White River High students will have their graduation ceremony at the Washington State Fairgrounds on June 9, starting at 7 p.m.

EHS graduation: Enumclaw High students will have their graduation ceremony at Pete’s Pool on June 9, starting at 7 p.m.

June 11

Whisky and Whiskers: Enumclaw’s Pursuit Distillery is hosting a dog adoption event on June 11, from 5 to 9 p.m. Smidget Rescue will be connecting the humans with available rescue dogs, although an application and reference check and home visit will still be required before bringing home a new furry friend. There will also be local vendors, food trucks, and a petting zoo with goats, alpacas, and llamas. For more information, go to facebook.com/pursuitdistilling/events.

June 13

Father’s Day Pop-up: The Ten Trails neighborhood in Black Diamond is hosting a Father’s Day pop-up market on June 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be vendors and wood-fired pizza (father’s get one free).

June 14

Hounds Around Town: The Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first-ever Hounds Around Town event on Sunday, June 14. This pet-friendly event is all about celebrating our furry friends — there will be vendors, foods and treats, a Paws and Pints beer garden, dog training demonstrations, and live music. You can also register to enter a Dog Costume Contest, Dog + Hooman contest (matching looks encouraged), and a Look-Alike Contest. June 15

‘Name Those Tunes’: The Gateway Concert Band is hosting the 17th annual “Name those Tunes” concert at Rotary Centennial Park on June 15, 7 to 8:30 p.m. As the name suggests, audience members get a chance to guess the names of the songs that are played. If the weather is poor, the concert will move to Enumclaw High. The event is free, but donations are encouraged. This is a BYOC (bring your own chair/blanket) event.

June 23

June 24

Movie at Ten Trails: The Ten Trails neighborhood in Black Diamond is hosting a movie night on June 24. Featured is “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants,” and starts at 5 p.m. Kids can receive a free SpongeBob ice cream treat. Bring your own chairs and blankets.

RECURRING EVENTS

Brewskis with a Newsie: Come meet your local journalist on every first Wednesday of each month from 5 to 6 p.m. at The Dusty Shelf (in the back). This is an informal event where residents can pitch stories, fact-check articles, and talk shop. For more information, email raymond.still@courierherald or call 360-802-8220.

Coffee with the Mayor: Enumclaw Mayor Anthony Wright hosts a Coffee with the Mayor on the first Mondays of the month from 9 to 10 a.m. This is a casual session for citizens to meet with him and discuss issues, concerns, and projects.
