EHS’ Ruiz, WRHS’ Elvig named NPSL 3A player/pitcher of the year

At the close of each sporting season – fall, winter and spring in high school circles – top performers in the North Puget Sound League 3A are accorded all-league honors.
Individuals from both Enumclaw High and White River made the list this year. Here’s a look at the spring standouts.
BASEBALL
Enumclaw: Kannius Alva, sophomore, first team; Oliver Potts, senior, second team; Hunter Anderson, senior, honorable mention; Cole Chiechi, senior, honorable mention; Graham Wagner, senior, honorable mention.
White River: Kolton Jensen, junior, first team; Gavin Mills, sophomore, second team; Lucas Brazier, senior, second team; Jaxson Whiting, sophomore, second team; Jackson Rock, senior, honorable mention.
FASTPITCH SOFTBALL
Enumclaw: Ava Lim, senior, infield, first team; Lila Schmidt, sophomore, outfield, first team; Braelynn Schliep, freshman, infield, second team; Brynn Findley, freshman, outfield, second team.
White River: Laken Elvig, sophomore, NPSL 3A Pitcher of the Year; Alexa Hansen, freshman, infield, first team; Danika Scott, freshman, outfield, first team; Natalie Harris, freshman, flex/utility, first team; Abby Akins, senior, infield, second team; McKenna Charlton, junior, infield, honorable mention; Grace Wolff, senior, outfield, honorable mention.
GIRLS TENNIS
Enumclaw: Hayley Dumontet and Audrey Firnkoess, both seniors, NPSL 3A Doubles MVP; Autumn Vogel, junior, and Ashley Diaz, senior, second team. Team Sportsmanship Award.
White River: Cydnee Chapin, junior, NPSL 3A Player of the Year; Alexandra Dinger, senior, honorable mention.
BOYS SOCCER
White River: Max Argo, junior, midfield, first team; Caymen Floyd, sophomore, defense, first team; Fabian Contreras-Bustos, senior, defense, second team; Ivan Floyd, senior, forward, second team; Owen White, freshman, forward, second team.
Enumclaw: Nery Ruiz, junior, NPSL 3A Player of the Year; Junior Gorobets, senior, midfield, second team.
BOYS TRACK & FIELD
Enumclaw: Cole Olson, senior, 200 meters and 400 meters, first team, 100 meters, second team, also named the NPSL 3A Boys Track Athlete of the Year; 4×400 relay team (Kaden Kranz, Jack Blair, Brody Hardersen, Cole Olson).
White River: Jorden Goethels, senior, high jump, first team; Mateo Anderson, sophomore, 3200 meters, second team; Team Sportsmanship (tie).
GIRLS TRACK & FIELD
Enumclaw: Lily Haas, senior, 800 meters and 1600 meters, first team; Senna Burt, junior, high jump, first team; Julia Michael, sophomore, pole vault, second team.
White River: Lillian Banks, freshman, 100 meters, second team; Paeton Poelman, junior, 3200 meters, second team; Team Sportsmanship (tie).
BOYS LACROSSE
The Enumclaw High squad includes players from both EHS and White River.
