Suspect in fatal hit and run turns himself in to police

According to the Black Diamond Police Department, a suspect in a fatal hit and run has reportedly turned himself into the Black Diamond Police Department.

“This remains an active investigation,” the BPD said in a July 27 Facebook post. Additional information will be released as appropriate.

The BPD responded to a reported hit and run on July 25 around 11 p.m. near the intersection of 3rd Ave. and Jones Lake Rd.

On July 26, the department asked the public for information, including information on the suspect vehicle, which was described as a potentially dark metallic blue 2004 – 2009 Mazda 3.

“The Mazda vehicle is likely missing its passenger side door mirror, and may have headlight, passenger front fender and windshield damage,” the BPD posted.
