The Enumclaw High girls found mixed success Thursday at Fort Steilacoom Park beating Lakes but falling to Peninsula in South Puget Sound League 2A cross country action.
Things did go as well for the Hornet boys, who lost to both league foes.
The girls had an easy time with Lakes, winning 17-44, but dropped a 22-33 verdict to the Seahawks.
Emily Eilertson was the first EHS girl across the line, finishing fourth overall with a time of 20 minutes, 4 seconds. Also figuring in the Hornet scoring were Chandler Weiman, fifth overall, 20:14; Peyton Vick, sixth, 20:30; Chelsea Weiman, ninth, 21:06; and Taryn Schreiner, 11th, 21:31.
In the boys race, the first EHS finisher was Cory Johnson, who placed sixth with a clocking of 17:18. Others factoring in the team score were Alec Rhome, eighth, 17:26; Peter Berger, 12th, 17:50; and Chase Olson, 15th, 18:25.
