RFST finishes fifth
The Rainier Foothills Swim Team competed at the Wine Country Invitational June 11-13 in Toppenish, Wash. The top eight swimmers in each event earned team points.
Will Cooper won the men’s 15 years old and older 100 freestyle and 1,500 freestyle, and was second in the 50 and 400 freestyles. He took third in the 200 individual medley, 100 backstroke, 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
Kaylee Driessen’s top finish was fifth in the 8 year old 50 breaststroke. She was also sixth in the 100 freestyle.
Dylan Hamel finished third in the 50 freestyle and 50 breaststroke for 13 to 14 year olds. He was fourth in the 50 backstroke; fifth, 100 backstroke, 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly; sixth, 100 breaststroke and 200 IM.
In boys 9- and 10-year-old division, Ethan Horan won the 50 freestyle; was second in 100 breaststroke, 200 IM, 400 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly and third in 50 breaststroke.
Gabe Sales, 16, finished fourth in the 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke; fifth, 400 freestyle; sixth, 100 backstroke; seventh, 200 IM; and eighth, 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
Bailey Sexton, 13, won the 50 breaststroke; was second, 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke; third, 50 backstroke; sixth, 200 IM and 200 freestyle; and seventh, 100 backstroke.
Nik Stopsack, 15, was sixth in the 400 freestyle; seventh, 50 free and 100 breast; and eighth, 200 IM.
Bennon VanHoof, 15, won the 200, 100 and 50 breaststroke and 50 freestyle; second, 200 IM; third, 400 freestyle; fourth, 1,500 freestyle and 100 backstroke; and fifth, 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
Bryce VanHoof, 13, was fourth in the 50 breaststroke; fifth, 50 butterfly; sixth, 100 freestyle and 50 backstroke; seventh, 50 and 200 freestyle; and eighth, 100 backstroke.
The women’s 10 years old and younger 200 medley relay team of McKenzie Invie-Johnson, Kimber Driessen, Elise Pratt and Grace Rich finished fifth, while Bennon VanHoof, Cooper, Sales and Stopsack won the men’s 15 and older 400 medley relay.
RFST also competed June 26 and 27 at the 48th Yakima YMCA-Kiwanis swim meet in Naches, Wash. The top six swimmers earned ribbons.
Jocelyn Clark, 10, earned her top finish, sixth, in the 50-yard backstroke.
Horan, 10, won the 100 IM, 100 backstroke, 100 and 50 butterfly and the 50, 100, and 200 freestyles. He also finished second in the 50 and 100 breaststroke.
Grace Munnell, 10, won the 50 backstroke and 200 freestyle; was second in the 50 butterfly and 100 breast; fourth, 100 freestyle.
Elise Pratt finished fifth in the 100 backstroke.
Lauren Pratt was third in the 50 freestyle and sixth in the 100 IM and 100 butterfly.
Rich, 10, finished second in the 100 backstoke; third, 100 IM and 100 freestyle; fourth, 50 breaststroke and 50 butterfly; fifth, 50 freestyle; and sixth, 100 breaststroke and 200 freestyle.
Bennon VanHoof won the 100 and 200 breaststroke; third, 200 IM; fourth, 50 and 200 freestyle; fifth, 100 backstroke and 500 freestyle; and sixth in the 100 butterfly and 100 freestyle.
Bryce VanHoof, 13, won the 50 and 100 freestyle; second, 200 freestyle and 200 IM; third, 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke; fifth, 100 breaststroke.
Brandon Vick, 12, finished third in the 50 freestyle; fifth, 200 IM; sixth, 100 IM, 100 and 50 backstrokes;
The 10 and younger 200 medley relay of Kimber Driessen, Elise Pratt, Rich and Katie Taylor finished third The 200 freestyle relay of Kimber Driessen, Harms, Clark and Taylor finished fifth.
2-under wins Lee
Steve Rhodes, Josh Sims, Gene Parkhurst and Theresa McBride captured first place with a 2-under par performance Thursday during Lee golf action at the Enumclaw Golf Course.
Second place went to the team of Don Ward, Sharon Lovinger, Beth Hansen and Stan Fornalski with a 1-under finish.
Football clinic set
Enumclaw Wolverine football and cheer camp is Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Thunder Mountain Middle School. Registration is open from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday. The clinic takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with a barbecue following.
