WHITE RIVER GIRLS GOLF: Miller leads in loss

In play with Enumclaw, Norris led three White River players with performances in the 60-stroke range.

First-year player Caitlyn Miller led White River High’s girls golf team in a 47-35 loss to Bonney Lake on the Panthers’ home course at High Cedars Country Club in Orting, while Rebecca Norris led the Hornets Thursday with a 61-stroke performance at Enumclaw in a 93-17 loss to the Hornets.

Against the Panthers, Miller led the Hornets with 12 points, all scored on a four-hole stretch where she played even-par. She finished with a 58. Tia Johnson shot a 59 for nine points. Norris had a 65 for six points. Norris and Miller each shot a birdie on the par-4 13th hole.

Christina Parker and Jordynn Smith each scored four points.

In play with Enumclaw, Norris led three White River players with performances in the 60-stroke range. Miller finished at 68 for five points and Johnson carded a 66 for three points. Norris led the team with six points.

The Hornets were looking for their first win Tuesday at Lakes; results can be found at cmg-northwest2.go-vip.net/courierherald. They also host Sumner at 3:15 p.m. Thursday.
