Three of CHI Franciscan Health’s nurses were honored at the 2014 Nurse of the Year award presented by March of Dimes Washington Chapter.

• Christopher Davis of St. Clare Hospital won the Rising Star award.

• Karen Onstad of St. Joseph Medical Center won the Women’s Health award.

• Juancho Serrano of Regional Hospital for Respiratory and Complex Care won the New Generation Award.

• Michele Caldwell of Harrison Medical Center received the WGU Washington Nursing Scholarship

Nurse of the Year events are held by various chapters of March of Dimes. The awards recognize and honor distinguished nurses for their outstanding contributions. Anyone can nominate a nurse they think deserves the nurse of the year award, patients, co-workers, friends, family, and other health professionals.

Kathy Bressler, R.N., president of CHI Franciscan St. Clare Hospital was the chair of this year’s event. CHI Franciscan Health was a sponsor of this year’s event.

“We are thrilled that four of our nurses were recognized for their outstanding work,” said Bressler, “CHI Franciscan Health is proud of all the work our nurses do each and every day to care for our patients. The nurses that were honored this year are all outstanding and deserving of this recognition.”

In total, 19 nurses were honored this year by the Washington State chapter of March of Dimes.
